Welcome to SAS Secret Agent Society – Social Skill Program
Next SAS Programs will commence in January 2022.
This program will be run with groups of 3 children to 1 facilitator and will run over 9 weeks with additional support to the individual and parents. Sessions can be run 1:1 if you feel your child needs additional support prior to joining in the group. Support can be provided to the teachers to assist your child with the mission (skills building activity) during the week.
SAS Small Group Program
The Secret Agent Society (SAS) Small Group Program captivates children with its espionage-themed games and activities and eye -catching resources. Kids love playing the multi-level computer game, Helpful Thought Missile action game, Challenger board game and Secret Message Transmission Device walkie-talkie game!
While they’re having fun developing ‘secret agent’ skills, children learn how to recognise and manage their own feelings, cope with change, detect other people’s emotions, talk and play with others and deal with bullying.
Parents and school staff are an integral part of the group program and receive resources and support to help their young ‘secret agents’ develop and practise new skills in real-life settings.
- Learning Difficulties
- Friendship Difficulties
An evaluation at the University of Queensland demonstrated the effectiveness of the SAS Small Group Program for children who have other social-emotional challenges (not Autism). For example, children with learning difficulties, ADHD, Anxiety Disorder and those without any diagnosed ‘disorder’. Improvements were found in children’s emotion regulation skills, anxiety levels and social functioning.
Sessions will be run in Ipswich, Gold Coast and Logan surrounds. If you would like to register your interest or have a group of young people or would like to know more to see if this is suitable for you, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
A registration form is provided in the resources tab.
